Sammy had a wonderful evening birthday party on Avlaki Beach. The water was clear and warm and the mosquitoes ignored her! And not only did the cake have candles but the children floated little candles on the water and we lit little tea candles all around (so we could see what we were eating!)
All in all it was a perfect party for Sammy and she loved it. [Because I love her, I'll keep coming to her parties but I fear the stony beach , the irritating wasps and the mosquitoes who bit ME instead of Sammy show my age!]
It really was an idyllic setting and the sunset was spectacular. All in all, a delightful picnic with about 30 friends and family... We had a nice collection of edibles: barbecued chicken wings, grilled sausages (grilled at home! not on the beach!! it's fire season...) There were dips and crisps and olives and hummus and two salads, besides the cake. There was also a lovely HUGE ice chest filled with several bottles of Prosecco, beer (of course), sodas and water.
For sure, a moonlight swim, on a wine dark sea, is the stuff of romance and beauty! Kerkira captured our souls again...
First I want to thank you for following my blog. I'm flattered since it's just a bunch of my nonsense...it's always nice to know that someone enjoys reading it.
ReplyDeleteI've read a few of your last posts and I have to say, that I think I'm going to love visiting here! You've got a great sense of humor and wonderful, wonderful pictures. I love that you're into bbq too! One of my favorites! I'll definitely be back... Have a wonderful week!
I don't think your blog is nonsense, I think it's charming and real and your photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteAt first I was interested in your blog because you are on the other side of Greece from me, and I like that part but don't get there too often.
Then I was charmed by your entries. Simple things done well is what art is all about I think.
